Odds and Ends

There are always a few little things to show that were completed that make the house homier but don't require an entire post. Here they are!

Ceiling and base board trim added.

A picture of a young Lafayette in the Lafayette Bedroom!

A new lamp for the small bedroom. I'm seeing a nautical theme evolving here!

A chair my brother, Steve and his wife, Liz, found at a garage sale for $1.

A party picnic table that seats at least 8!

The bench painted red. Originally it looked very pink but, with additional coats of paint, is looking much better!

Bathroom Totally Completed!

Casey and I did not complete the bath last trip because the new window had not been trimmed. That was done this trip so Bob and I totally finished the bath with hooks and all! It's the little things that make a house livable.

The view is spectacular from the bath!

The Mermaid is Hung!

Greg completed all the interior walls and trim in the living room so we planned a lot of painting this trip to complete the living room. My goal was to get the mermaid, I had purchased in California, hung. We did it! I now feel like the house is totally functional and ready for almost anything including lots of visitors. I guess I'll have to purchase more towels!

You can see where the 2 rooms were, the chimney and the wall by the colors on the floor.

The mermaid is up! Notice, no tools!

We still need more work on this original corner cabinet but it's getting there!

It truly has become a retreat!

The bookcase will be built on this wall.

The Deck!

We had asked that the deck be completed before we arrived, and it was! My sister, Bob and I had drinks the night we arrived , as planned, and spent some part of every day out here over looking the water! What a fabulous addition to the house and one that will be well used. Below are pictures from begining to end.
